Hi! I'm Pergentino Araujo, known as PG.
Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science, University of Brasilia, located in Brasilia, Brazil. I earned my M.Sc. degree in 2009 from the Center for Advanced Studies and Systems in Recife, Brazil, using large-scale solutions and parallel computing to extract data using web crawlers to apply on a rich web application. My B.Sc. degree in Information Systems was awarded in 2005 by UNIFIP.
My Ph.D. research focused on developing a resilient, agent-based architecture for the efficient utilization of unreliable transient resources* in cloud computing. This work led to the creation of the MULTS and BRA2Cloud projects, which enable task execution while improving reliability and reducing time and costs from a cloud user’s perspective.
I am passionate about Software Development and Architecture, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and related fields. Teaching is a passion that I have been practicing for more than 10 years. My official CV is available on the Curriculum Lattes platform of the Brazilian National Research Council (CNPq)."
Related Projects
MULTS - A Multi-cloud Fault-Tolerant Architecture for Transient Servers - A lightweight fault-tolerant architecture to dynamic managing untrusted virtual machines in a multi-cloud scenario, enabling a new breed of trust services where users no longer know which cloud provider is being used to run their applications in a transparent way.
BRA2Cloud - A Brand new Resilient Agent-based Architecture for Cloud computing - This project investigates the application of agent-based architectures to create a resilient environment using unreliable transient servers to run applications using Cloud Computing idle resources. Exploring idle resources is an efficient way to save energy and money (e.g., reuse unused CPU and memory to provide services and run applications).
